Dedicated, hard-working, driven, and compassionate – these are words that fittingly describe Lifestyle Foods’ President and CEO Jason Bross and his team. Because of his passion for hard work and education, Bross decided – with the full support of his team – to make his participation in one that would raise awareness and funds for an organization that he holds dear, Junior Achievement. Jason fulfilled his promise and competed in the 2012 Land Rover TriRock Annapolis Triathlon with over 1400 other athletes. Having never competed in a triathlon before, Jason was expected to complete a 500 meter swim, 12 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run. Jason was successfully able to raise $3,700 for JA, and has donated $1,300 of his own money to bring the total donation to $5,000 for Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania’s STEM program.

Lifestyle Foods emphasizes fitness and health, and Bross has focused on these two aspects of living a healthy lifestyle for his entire life. Along with fitness and health, he also values education and goal achievement, and is passionate about doing his part to help in educating the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Junior Achievement teaches children important life lessons like how to acquire a job, how to be a productive and efficient citizen and employee, and even gives children insights into possible career options. This wonderful (and teacher-loved) educationally-driven organization also helps children in their development of critical thinking, problem-solving, team-working, and leadership skills, how the economy works, and how to manage money.

Jason Bross stands and receives a thank you poster from the students at Conewago Valley Intermediate School for Lifestyle Foods’ donation of food in support of Camp C.A.R.E.S. (Conewago Area Resource and Environmental Study).

Camp C.A.R.E.S. is a 3-day, 2-night outdoor education excursion for all sixth-graders at Conewago Valley Intermediate School. Approximately 300 sixth-graders and 60 high school students acting as counselors participated in this excursion. The students, teachers, and counselors all stayed at Camp Nawakwa, near Arendtsville, PA; where they learned about nature and the environment.

Lifestyle Foods’ trendsetters got their “run on” on Saturday morning at this past weekend’s YWCA Race Against Racism in York, PA. While we all made really good time, Jason Bross our super-fit CEO came out in the lead with an awesome completion time of about 24 minutes! When we arrived we were greeted by the smiling faces of the volunteers at the race, and we quickly set up shop by the Starbucks stand — LOVED that! First came the Kids’ Fun Run, which was by the way, the cutest thing ever!

Immediately after that followed the big 5k Run/Walk where a little over 500 people came to run for YWCA’s racism elimination cause. Some of us started out strong and pulled it through to the end at a fast pace, while the less experienced took the opportunity to start out slow and steady, getting some cardio while enjoying the vibrant streets of downtown York!

Being able to participate as a team was a great experience and we can’t wait for the next one!

Having fun with the Lifestyle Foods family.

We recently had the opportunity to show our Trendsetters (our fun nickname for our employees) how much we appreciate all of their hard work this past Tuesday night with a special gathering in their honor. With the entire Lifestyle staff decked out in their LSF branded gear, everyone was ready to get the party started! The whole thing went off without a hitch with C & D Bar and Grill in New Oxford, PA as our chosen venue. And thanks to C &D’s excellently prepared meals and their attentive wait staff as our hosts for the evening, we all had a wonderful time!

We were lucky enough to have our very busy CEO Jason Bross present for the entire soirée! He jovially closed the evening with toast to the group and a heart-felt speech saying how much he appreciates everyone and all that we do. “Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the company, we truly could not be successful without you and your obvious level of commitment to Lifestyle Foods”, said Jason. Lifestyle Foods is definitely a company that values its employees and does not let hard work go unnoticed.

The entire Lifestyle team happily took some time from their day for the opportunity to volunteer at the Rescue Mission in York, PA this past week. A very humbling experience, no task was too large for the Lifestyle team. Each team member did all they could to make sure that no client of the Mission, young or old left the building without an exchange of kind words and having had a hot meal.

“Loyalty, Community, and Respect are the core values of Lifestyle, Inc. and its team members,” says CEO Jason Bross, “being able to get involved with our local community is a privilege for our team and we’ve really enjoyed having the opportunity to help out today”.

Just this past week, Lifestyle Foods proudly announced Carolyn Hamilton of York, PA as the winner of a brand new iPad2. The prize was awarded to Carolyn for her participation in a market research survey conducted at the 2011 Taste of Pennsylvania Wine and Music Festival in York, PA. Carolyn’s name was pulled randomly during a drawing conducted by the Lifestyle team, led by Jason Bross – our founder and CEO. Carolyn graciously accepted her prize with enthusiasm and also was sent home with a nice little stock of free Lifestyle Foods’ products. Congratulations Carolyn! We enjoyed meeting you, and we hope that you enjoy your new iPad2!
